University of St Andrews named third in UK

The University of St Andrews has placed third in the UK, behind Cambridge and Oxford, in The Guardian University Guide 2012, which compares 120 universities in the UK. In the guide, St Andrews remains the top university in Scotland and the only Scottish university in the top ten. This year St Andrews ranked in the top ten in the UK in 17 subject areas. The Guardian University Guide is compiled by assessing key indicators of university strengths, from teaching quality and staff-student ratios to graduate job prospects and student satisfaction.
