University of St Andrews named third in UK

The University of St Andrews has placed third in the UK, behind Cambridge and Oxford, in The Guardian University Guide 2012, which compares 120 universities in the UK. In the guide, St Andrews remains the top university in Scotland and the only Scottish university in the top ten. This year St Andrews ranked in the top ten in the UK in 17 subject areas. The Guardian University Guide is compiled by assessing key indicators of university strengths, from teaching quality and staff-student ratios to graduate job prospects and student satisfaction.

St Andrews ranked top in Scotland

The University of St Andrews has retained its rank of top in Scotland for teaching and research in the Complete University Guide for 2012. The guide, which was published today, also places the University of St Andrews 6^th in the UK for the second year running with 21 subject areas ranked in the top ten.
